A Taste of Dominican Culture

I just purchased this nice machede here in the DR so that I could cut coconuts for the team to drink out of for our "Taste of Dominican Culture" night. Part of my job responsibilities are to lead evening activities like this one. During the evening, we play games, drink from coconuts, and dance the merengue. This is a picture of me a
nd Elyse tearing up the dance floor. I have pretty much mastered the art of the merengue, I just cant move my hips like the Dominicans do. Things are going great down here. I cant believe it has already been three weeks. This Saturday I will be hiking Mata de Platino. This hike will be like creeking up the mountain through a shallow river that has aqua colored pools you can swim in. Im telling you now that the mission field is very tough.

dear kevin,
this is socorro. i am laying here in bed with a sling around my arm, a neck brace, a knee brace and an ice pack on my head from a massive concussion i had by slamming my head up against the window.
you guessed it right! i'm on heavy doses of vicadin. my trail blazer is totalled (my she rest in peace) and it's possible i might be having surgery soon from my hit and run accident that just took place, here in tulare (yes, we've got it!) so as i lay here on my deathbed, i'm told of a picture of my fiance dancing with another woman. and then i look back to the moment where the collision took place, and i wish that would have been the end of my life. because kevin... i never wanted to see the day when your heart would dance with another.
with that said, have a good life. and may you dance many dances in the future.
yours truly,
socorro j. sandoval...what could of been wilson.
